Artwork sold in perfect condition

Artwork location: Netherlands

The series highlights consumerism and the emptiness behind appearance. Like ridiculous warriors, the characters adorn themselves with plastic, a material they claim to be noble although it is causing their downfall.
To get our full attention, Rideti chose humor over guilt. She portrays our vanity and blindness with tenderness. She emphasizes the emptiness of consumption when nature urges us to return to authenticity. With a plastic, even aesthetic approach, Fab Rideti produces engaged works of art, impregnated by the tremendous contemporary questions, scrutinizing human fragility as much as the flaws of our societies.
The themes of play, representation, and spectacle are recurrent within her work. She draws us into her theatrical, fantastic universe, often tinged with derision, which seduces us, only to reach us again. She addresses the inner child within us. Fab Rideti stages her photographs by creating imaginary characters that she dresses up in her way to tell her story better.

Fab Rideti

Belgium  • 1970

Born in France, Fab Rideti is an artist who emerged under the influence of Paris' creative scene as former international marketing director of Guerlain, one of the gems of the LVMH luxury conglomerate. In that role, she led artistic direction and fragrance development. As she decided to solely focus on her creative aspirations, Fab Rideti entered the School of Fine Arts of Versailles, France (Ecole des Beaux-Arts de Versailles) where she soon revealed a passion for photography. She spent a few years in Seattle, then moved to Brussels in 2015.

With a plastic, even aesthetic approach, Fab Rideti produces a committed work, imbued with major contemporary issues, scrutinizing both human fragility and the flaws in our societies.

Themes of game, representation, spectacle are recurrent within her work.

She takes us into her fantasized theatrical universe, often tinged with derision. She first seduces us, to better reach us afterwards: her falsely perfect images surprise us with a second reading when we do not expect it. She speaks to our inner child .

Rideti stages her photos by creating imaginary characters that she dresses up in her own playful way. She tells us stories to make us dream, and think :speechless stories, suspended narratives through which she depicts the human condition.
