Biography
Born in France in 1964, Eric Liot is an established painter and sculptor, and he creates works in various mediums and techniques such as collage or assemblage.
The last 20 years, Eric Liot has been "recycling" and using images. He uses images and characters he sees every day to deliver us our contemporary icons. We see with indifference our favorite heroes, ordinary faces of the consumer society or characters from cartoons, films or video games.
Eric Liot's work is strongly rooted in the tradition of the found object and assemblage. Liot's collages are made of found objects, elements of comics, pieces of packaging, things taken from commercials. He arranges these elements and materials of the collage in new displays to tell new stories. He takes the utility of the objects away and offers them new visual qualities in the artworks he creates.
