Biography
Javier Silva Meinel has immortalized Peru and especially Machu Picchu for more than forty years. With a sober and subtle black and white, the artist transports us to his country and its millennial culture, with live shots reinforcing the dream and the mystery; or staging with white sheets in the background paying homage to Peruvian photographer Martin Chambi, giving theatricality and absurdity to situations. Enigmatic, narrative and timeless, his film photography closely links man to nature and the adventures that it generates; inviting us to question ourselves and to look at Peru differently.
