Biography

Sébastien Kito is a French sculptor born in 1963, he lives and works in Paris.

Sébastien Kito has always expressed his desire to discover the culture of his homeland, Japan. His thoughts come together through this notion of double culture.

Sébastien Kito went along the same artistic path like several male members of his family, such as his father Akira Kito, a famous Japanese artist who portrayed Paris after war. He joined Ecole Nationale Supérieure des Beaux-Arts in Paris in 1985.

Sébastien Kito is close to many artistic movements, he mainly favors the Cobra group, his father used to go to this group a few years before. He is close to the artists of his time, Sébasiten Kito often went to Pierre Alechinsky's place and became Raymond Hains's assistant.

Sébastien Kito is able to portray exchanges and relations with a lot of ease, giving his sculptures a delicate but strong look at the same time.
