Biography

Jean-Jacques Argueyrolles was born in 1954 near Paris. Inspired by Tapies up on photography, he starts sculpture discovery 35 years ago. Ten years later, he was recognized as an international sculptor and designer.

Argueyrolles twists, kneads and modify the original material shape. He work on bronze, stone, iron and wood and designs furniture lines (minimalist-baroque) while creating sculptures and monumental sculptures. He considers Dali, Tapiès and Moore as his art masters. But Argueyrolles considers himself as an « autodidact » (self-made man), which also explains his atypical artwork.

Argueyrolles loves traveling and gets his inspiration also from the «outside ». « I don't do art the regular way, but I believe in giving dreams and selling dreams ».

He left Europe in his fifties to look for new inspiration in Asia : « In Asia, I am starting from scratch, but I believe that time-creation comes on moving times ».
