Adam Norgaard

Adam Norgaard (b. 1991) is an American artist working in Japan for the past 6 years. His paintings are influenced by the sensation of culture shock and outcast that he experienced when he first lived abroad. He attempts to bring the viewers into a similar feeling of foreignness by the atmosphere of some of his paintings. 

Adam introduces notes of chaos into the beauty of the painting - such as unexpected hues of color that accent specific features. In his own practice he is working at deviating from references and attempting to work completely from his imagination.
