Maria Petrova

Maria Petrova is a Bulgarian artist, born in 1991. She graduated from the Art High School of Applied Arts, then from the National Academy of Arts.

The artist works with oil painting, her style is realism with small beginnings of abstraction. Portrait painting is also a passion of mine, it involves recreating (look, eyes) the state of the eyes:

"For me the eyes are a window to the soul, they are so vast, sensual, incredible and infinitely mysterious, I have a challenging thirst to paint eyes that want to say SOMETHING".

Maria is easily recognisable, in her paintings she allows the viewer to feel emotions and her style does not make us enjoy the feelings we feel, because they are a fact when the Catrinas are in front of our eyes.
