Born in: 1985

Risote begins graffiti in 1999. " Many of us met his signature in France or somewhere else, in the epicenter of a city or at its periphery ". Having no preference for a medium, he is one of the most noticed graffiti writers in the French capital.

Not liking rules, he has no predefined style and tries constantly to renew himself. "Travelling, writing, we don’t even know anymore which is the cause of which. It doesn’t matter, every artwork created by Risote has something to say on its painter-traveler's impressions. And his native land : L’Oise is probably no stranger to its nomadic character; Van Gogh had already roamed its landscape, in search of new motives. Furthermore, it is to this unclassifiable master and to some impressionists that Risote pays a tribute in his first personal exhibition." Bernard Fontaine

"The street quickly emerged as a preferred medium for him, and graffiti has become a way to expand the field of possibility. he knew to reinvent himself on each of his interventions and to conceive graffiti as a playful universe without compulsion or limit. It is a sensitive experience and constantly renewing from a liberty that lives and expresses itself in an unconstrained way.

The city is no longer the regulated and oppressive place where everyone’s fate seems to be programmed to where they live or work. Graffiti has become imperative for this artist, with the necessity of reclaiming the city and the space. To deliberately take two steps following the way of a side road, to jump over a balustrade, or to climb a fence in order to paint. It's this progress Risote tells with his Art. » Amine Bouziane
