KIEJSTUT BERE?NICKI (born in 1935)
He studied at the National High School of Plastic Arts in Gdansk. He graduated in 1958 from professor Stanislaw Teisseyre's atelier. Since 1984 he worked as an associate professor and became a full professor in 1994. His works have been presented in numerous exhibitions, among others in Sopot, Paris, Szczecin, Warsaw, Tokio, Sao Paulo, Skopje, Sophia, Berlin, Prague, Rostock, Zakopane, Colony, Gdansk, Moscow, Athens, Madrid and others. He is considered to be a representative of so-called “Sopot School”. He paints figural compositions and still lifes decorated in typical, realistic manner referring to the seventeenth century Dutch paintings. The artist's work is distinguished by the excellence of workshop, the precise composition and limited, often monochromatic color palette.
