Rasmus Mogensen

Born in: 1974 Denmark

Born in Copenhagen in 1974, the Danish photographer Rasmus Mogensen is best known for his fashion photography. At the age of 8, he began to develop his passion for photography and from that point on dreamed of being a photographer. He then became an assistant photographer both in Denmark and New York. At age 17, he exhibited for the first time at Copenhagen's Gallery Photografica. Featuring glamorous lips and silhouettes, Mogensen's photographs have graced the world's most famous magazines, such as  Vogue, Elle, Marie-Claire and Citizen K.

Today, he is a key player in the beauty and fashion industry, collaborating with brands such as Wolford, Diesel, Shiseido, Lancel, Elizabeth Arden, L'Oréal and Kérastase.

In 2007, he won a gold medal at the Epica awards in the category 'Press, Poster and Techniques' for his advertising campaign with JBS underwear.

The primary focus of his work is the female form. Like Helmut Newton, the women of Rasmus Mogensen are strong and proud, they dominate the image, asserting their sensuality and power.

He is the grandson of the famous designer and architect Børge Mogensen.

"For me, photography is the search for harmonious shape and composition. What keeps me going is the fact that a creative career is a never-ending evolution in the search for a perfection that does not exist. I love that there is always something you can improve on in the process."
