Sports photographer based in France
Biography
Born in Canada, Bila came to France at a young age, following his family when his father, a researcher, found a position in Grenoble. It was through his involvement in athletics, particularly running, that he was introduced to photography.
He began taking photos of his friends at the club, during training sessions, and at competitions.
He became interested in the work of Cortney White, an American photographer specializing in sports, and started corresponding with her.
That’s how it all began, and he grew as a photographer from there. Sports became both his passion and his main subject. He branched out into other sports through assignments from brands that had noticed his work on Instagram. He started submitting his images to agencies, particularly to Presse Sports, the photo agency for L’Équipe.
During the Paris Olympics, he worked for the organizing committee, Paris 2024.
It was in this context that he took his first major photograph, which quickly became famous: Rue Lepic.
