From 1966 to 2004 he exhibited individually in galleries and salons in Montevideo, Punta del Este and Buenos Aires. It is estimated that between 1956 and 2006 he had over a hundred collective exhibitions in Uruguay and abroad.

He has been awarded several prizes: the Premio Adquisición Salón Municipal de Montevideo in 1972-74 and the First Prize of the same Salón Municipal in 1984; the prizes granted by Banco de la República in 1979 and 1980; the recognitions in Salón de Artes Plásticas de San José in 1983 and 1984, and those obtained in the Salón de Pintura del Automóvil Club del Uruguay in 1983 and 1984.

His work is also reproduced in books and in numerous press articles and specialized magazines in Uruguay and abroad.

In 2013, after almost two months of production, a mural by Walter Deliotti became part of the collection of the Central Bank of Uruguay (BCU). The mural is prominently displayed to the public. The wooden work, entitled "Mural: Port Construction", was conceived by its creator in 1967, precisely the same year BCU was created.

In 2014 the Central Bank of Uruguay presented the book "Port Construction", edited by Galeria Latina, which explores the work of artist Walter Deliotti, author of the mural installed in the hall of the institution in December 2013. The event took place at the Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales with the presence of artist Walter Deliotti, the author of the book and curator of the exhibition, Sonia Bandrymer, the Ministers of Economy and Finance, Mario Bergara, and Education and Culture, Ricardo Ehrlich; BCU Vice President, Jorge Gamarra; the Institution's Secretary General, Elizabeth Oria; and the Museum's director, Enrique Aguerre.

In 2018 a new $50 polymer bill entered in circulation, featuring the national coat of arms, the map of Uruguay and the Bank's anniversary logo, and on the reverse side is Walter Deliotti's artwork called "Mural: Port Construction."

Deliotti's works are in private collections in Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, the United States, Ecuador, Spain, Israel, Italy, England, Sweden and Uruguay. They are also part of the collections of the Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales (Uruguay), Museo de Bellas Artes Juan Manuel Blanes (Uruguay) and Museo de Arte Americano de Maldonado (Uruguay).
