Presentation

Daniel Uytterhaeghe (or Duytter) is a painter who comes from Lille, France, born in 1963. From 1979 to 1985 he studied applied arts at the ESAAT Roubaix.

In 1984 he produced his first urban scenes by playing with the framing and the light. A personal dynamic is being generated through his vision of reality.

Duytter is fascinated by architecture and bright contrasts. He loves Edward Hopper's paintings for their urban artificial atmosphere.

Duytter's paintings suspend the moment the same way photography does, by adding a visionary touch to the present moment in order to create a testimony about our society, destined to the future generations.
