Biography
Piotr Butkiewicz is a Polish painter born in 1966.
He graduated from the Academy of Fine Arts of Wroclaw in 1991 where he specialized in sculpture in the atelier of a famous artist. Piotr Butkiewicz does not limit himself to a single practice, besides being a sculptor, he is an abstract painter.
Piotr Butkiewitcz's paintings presents great lyricism, between dark and bright colors, the painter shows on the surface of his pieces all the gestural that accompanies his creations. All of his paintings have the traces of his creative process, big brush strokes.
Piotr Butkiewicz's work is displayed in numerous group and private exhibitions, in different European galleries in Berlin, Brussels and Helsinki etc.
