Presentation

Born in 1954 in Marseilles, Henry Marcaillou never left the Phocaean wity and Provence which he likes so much. After studying graphic arts, he started painting, and a lot of success. Recognized for his Postimpressionist Provencal paintings, he graually evolved in his subjects and in the way he treated them, without losing sight of his aesthetic line. His last works are signed with his initials, HM.

Today, Henry Marcaillou explores new subjects, particularly that of the city. He likes depicting New York especially, by trying to grasp the soul of the city, its agitation, and by creating a intimite and luminous setting.

In 1973, he exhibited in several galleries in Marseille and then he started exhibiting everywhere in France. During the 80s his work acquired an international dimension and he exhibited in the United States in Los Angelos and New York.
