Michel Doumit

Michel Doumit is a Lebanese contemporary artist with a masters degree in Plastic Arts from the Lebanese University and a masters degree in Art & science  from ITMO university, St. Petersburg, Russia.

“Creation by destruction" is one of the latest projects that Michel has worked on. His portraits are created by the back and forth process of making and destroying. Using multiple layers in the materials and thinking process Michel creates the most intriguing faces. "From a young age, I drew faces with crossed lines, over the photos, inside my books, always enjoying the action of ruining. After many years of artistic research, I am now a lot more conscious about the type of destruction that I want to make in order to create an ambiguous, yet provocative expression ."
