Award winning artist David Walker works in both oil paints and watercolours. Before concentrating on illustration and fine art painting David’s trained and practiced as an architect. As a painter, therefore, David’s work is primarily concerned with the built environment. The play of light and atmosphere on the manmade forms of our cities.
David is a three times winner of the Frank Herring award at both the Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours and the Royal Institute of Oil Painters, as well as a recipient of the Rowland Hilder award and ‘The Artist’ magazine award.
David’s work has been exhibited in the UK, France and China. In 2013 he was invited to mount a solo exhibition at the Broadgate Tower in the City of London. The show was entitled ‘Relative Space’ and concentrated in particular on how seemingly mundane spaces can evoke a sense of place. This year David was invited to exhibit and be a guest speaker at the opening ceremony of the ‘Re- Interpretation’ 2016 International Watercolour Exhibition in Suzhou, China. The exhibition will tour Chine throughout 2016.

Who is the artist?
