The Galerie de Crécy is pleased to invite you to the opening of the exhibition, Pierre SOJO - Recent works. On this occasion we will present for the first time an important selection of paintings and drawings by Pierre Sojo. (Opening on Saturday March 9, 2024 from 4 p.m., by reservation). Pierre Sojo was born in December 1990 in Pithiviers. He grew up in contact with the works of his father Jean Anguera and those of his great-grandfather Pablo Gargallo. Very early on, he showed an interest in drawing but his first painting lessons were only given to him at the age of 18, by Marc Chalmé, in Nantes. “At the time, learning classical painting did not interest me, I wanted to be modern. Today, being modern no longer interests me, I want to be sincere.” Since then, this young painter has taken the time to create a corpus of paintings on varied subjects, from mythology to genre scenes. He develops a universe of enigmatic characters who evolve in the light of the landscape as well as in the intimacy of interiors.
