Biography
Like many African artists, Elisha Ongere discovered his artistic talent through trial and experimentation as a child. What is amazing is that he already knew he wanted to be a painter when he was in primary school. In particular, the interest of his classmates and teachers in his drawings and paintings encouraged him in his intention.
Over the years, he continued to improve his technique and skill, and in the early 1990s he sold his artwork through galleries for the first time.
Elisha Ongere's abstract African oil paintings have since been bought not only in Kenya but have attracted worldwide attention, including the United States, France, Germany, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Japan and several other countries.
Elisha Ongere is married and has three children.
