Born in 1972 in Lille, Yannick De Praeter is a versatile artist: sculptor, assembler, colorist. Always passionate about materials, especially iron and brass, he acquired a unique expertise thanks to his experiences in the manufacture of luxury pieces in an art foundry. These years of learning and practice have equipped him with a rare know-how, where precision and love of a job well done are at the heart of his approach.
In 2020, Yannick devotes himself fully to the creation of paintings and sculptures. With a keen eye, he carefully selects pieces of character, capable of telling a story. Each element he integrates into his works is the subject of in-depth research and meticulous transformation: sanding, staining and varnishing to enhance the textures. This process requires not only time, but also a mastery of technique and an artistic vision that give each creation a unique and timeless character.
This work of composition requires patience and creativity. Yannick spends hours imagining and adjusting the arrangements, seeking to achieve perfect harmony between the materials. Each work thus embodies a quest for excellence and uniqueness, far from industrial production.
