Sharon Grimes, originally from Texas, is a self-taught contemporary abstract artist whose art is a personal expression of life, with all its textures and layers. Inspired by nature and the universe, her work typically features vivid color and vibrant energy and is consistently characterized by strong composition, contrast and texture, demonstrating her remarkable understanding of color and composition. Sharon Grimes became interested in art at a very young age. She grew up enjoying drawing people, animals and her environment. At twenty, her passion for art blossomed through the many galleries and museums she visited in London where she lived for a year. Sharon was a finalist for the 2014 Hunting Art Prize. Her work has been described by Sara Eyestone, artist, writer and curator of La Posada de Santa Fe and Spa, as "a feast for the eyes". Sharon Grimes' paintings have been featured in numerous group exhibitions including RW Norton Gallery Group Show in Shreveport, LA and the Kilgore Art Festival in Kilgore, TX. She has also exhibited in Miami, Florida at Red Dot and a solo show was held with Arcadia in Tyler, Texas. In 2021, his works were presented in Barcelona in Spain as part of a collective exhibition as well as in our ephemeral Showroom in Collioure. His work is now part of many private collections in the United States as well as in Europe and his fame is today worldwide.
