Live, feel and paint as the only guideline.
Biography
Since 2019, Aramis has been exploring painting as a way to translate his emotions and his view of the world. The artist undertakes an exploration of himself through his works, a permanent quest for authenticity. A dialogue is established with the canvas; during the creative process, the artist then discovers the canvas as a reflection of himself, a reflection that man seeks to escape, that the artist seeks. The canvas imposes itself on him before he thinks about it and invites the viewer to probe his emotions, his own reflection.
Aramis' paintings, which he compares to a logbook, capture fragments of emotions, instantaneous, spontaneous. Letting himself be guided by the ups and downs of life, Aramis translates into his painting intimate and personal feelings, echoes of universal questions or sensations; love, jealousy, self-confidence, addiction, anger, lack are at the base of these metaphorical figures. The humanoid characters at the center of his work weave a form of personal mythology throughout the canvases, a work created from his experience, the observation of customs and anthropology.
Sensitive to art in all its forms, Aramis has drawn his inspiration from the works of Bernard Buffet, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Chaïm Soutine Otto Dix and Michael Haneke; these artists have marked his career and forged his own style, at the crossroads of the spontaneous and the thoughtful. Exploring various techniques - collages, engravings, oil painting - Aramis has made his studio a real laboratory where he pushes the limits of his art and constantly reinvents himself. A graduate of the Beaux-Arts d'Angers, permanent artist of Art Chapel Gallery (Angers), exhibited and awarded at the Salon 49 Regards, Aramis aims to make his work resonate in the heart of the spectator.
