Art Trope Gallery is delighted to invite you to discover the photographic work of Bruno Palisson on his series ‘‘The Way of the Salt Worker’’ with 12 works exhibited in large format in the heart of the city of Noirmoutier-en-l'Île.
It is through his photographic series that the artist wished to highlight and pay tribute to the salt worker profession within the salt marshes of the island of Noirmoutier.
Through his shoots and his compositional work, Bruno Palisson’s photographs succeed in sublimating the talent of this profession and highlighting its gestures in celebration of their work.

The use of a black and white filter emphasizes time, effort and the historicity of the discipline, whose appearance dates back to the 7th century. Bruno Palisson surprises us by his geometric style and by the life he puts in those minimalist spaces. Furthermore, the photographer highlights his architectural know-how and proposes, in this series, a square format which seeks a constant diagonal leading and structuring the trajectory of the viewer’s eye throughout the work.
Bruno Palisson’s uniqueness is his ability to capture the slow movement of this practice requiring perfect dexterity for harvesting. This ancestral craft illustrates man’s patience and connection with the Earth, as a reflection of oneself. Thereby, through these moments of life performances by the salt worker, the photographs pay a powerful tribute to those individuals whose work had never been represented by a contemporary artist before.
