Juan Cristobal Cobo is a Colombian photographer (Cali, 1963). Expatriated to New York as a teenager, he dedicated himself to his first passion, cinema, working for more than 30 years as a film and documentary director, but also in the world of advertising, until he finally found himself drawn to the art of photography.

Accustomed to collaborative storytelling work, he is now faced with a more personal form of art that reflects his own interpretation of the world, the people and the events around him. The process takes place in relative solitude, in which he can give free rein to his intuition.

Curiosity and emotions for what surrounds him emanate from each of Juan Cristobal's photographs: it is his way of connecting with others.

His work has been published in numerous magazines and newspapers, including National Geographic magazine, The New York Times, The Washington Post, Bloomberg Businessweek, Science Magazine, Art Magazin, Leica Fotografie International, New Yorker Photo and L'oeil de la Photographie. He is the author of the photo book "LA LUZ OPACA" published in 2021 by RAYA EDITORIAL directed by Santiago Escobar Jaramillo.
