Magical Forest

Over The Influence is proud to announce the solo exhibition Magical Forest by Verapat Sitipol, within its Parisian gallery. This second exhibition with OTI marks the debut of the Thai artist in Europe. The Magical Forest exhibition will be held from February 4 to March 11, 2023. Magical Forest is a tribute to Thailand's many waterfalls and wild landscapes that honor life and the force of nature at its most poetic. Through this new collection, Verapat wishes to highlight the issue of climate change and concern for the environment throughout the world. The paintings in this series also evoke the artist's fascination with natural landscapes and the immense respect he has for nature and the environment. Her brushwork and vibrant color palette highlight her belief that everything is connected. The artist paints his canvases entirely in black before covering them with bright and vivid hues to represent the vibrant energy that nature offers to the world every day. This is an existential representation of life and death materializing. As the forest unfolds and comes to life through wild foliage, somewhere in the distance a flower wilts as another blooms. The works, imprinted with poetry, depict the cycle of life.

“Today, climate change is increasingly harming people. It disrupts both daily life and minds, so many harmful upheavals that are a source of suffering. At the same time, the pristine beauty of nature can help us fight climate change because everything is linked. I create art to convey that message of pleasure, joy, and manifest calm that each molecule of visual expression carries. These paintings are an ode to the freshness, wildness and humility of life observable in national parks, waterfalls, forests and flowers”.
