For Art Paris 2024, Galerie Ariane CY imagines a stand centered around contemporary bodies seen through the works of three artists: Camille Brès, Samuel Yal and Sophie Westerlind. A monumental porcelain sculpture by Samuel Yal occupies the center of the stand. This fragmented body responds to the tattooed and embroidered bodies of Sophie Westerlind and Camille Brès. Sophie Westerlind is a Swedish artist who lives and works in Venice, Italy. She exhibits in Europe. The painter studied in London at Saint Martins, then at the Royal College of Art. It is undoubtedly to her years of study that she owes the English influence which irrigates her painting. His touch is free, fast, bold.

For Art Paris, Sophie Westerlind delivers a series of paintings, some of which were exhibited at the Swedish Institute in Rome and others painted during a new residency at the Cité Internationale des Arts in Paris. Camille Brès is a French artist who lives and works in Strasbourg. She presented a solo show in May 2023 with Galerie Ariane CY. For Art Paris, the painter delivers works created especially for the fair. The body plays an important role in the works of Camille Brès. The artist questions our view of female bodies. Two of the exhibited works combine oil painting and embroidery, the embroideries are made by Noémi Brès. Porcelain sculptures by Samuel Yal complete the selection.
