Yonatan Wondwosen

Yonatan Wondwosen was born in 1988 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. A graduate of Addis Ababa University in Fine Arts and Design in 2011, he uses meticulous collage and painting techniques on paper or canvas to create precise and detailed works. Yonatan participates in monumental sculpture projects in Ethiopia and currently works full-time in an artist's studio in Addis Ababa.

“As an artist, I seek to record and commemorate the present that provides a glimpse into the future. I seek to give form to unknown or invisible things. Often these things are emotions and thoughts of man, either in the present state or those which cause growth or change."

Yonatan Wondwosen had a solo exhibition at Guramayne Art Center, Addis Ababa (2021). He has exhibited at the Modern Art Museum Gebrekristos Desta Center, Addis Ababa (2022), the Addis Art Fair (2014), and the National Museum of Ethiopia (2012).
