She cultivates a dreamlike, dense and organic universe, her works are colorful, studded with details and growths. Marlène Mocquet quickly distinguished herself by the singularity of her painting. She transcribes with great technical mastery a personal, poetic and fantastic universe, which arouses curiosity. Each painting by Marlène Mocquet is populated by characters, animals and anthropomorphic objects composing an excessively sophisticated image, constructing a story with a deceptively naive look. Marlène Mocquet treats the pictorial material with an almost brutal, rough rendering, she likes drips, plays with impasto. His work is steeped in humor and candor.
