Biography
Claire Michelini is a sculptor who works and lives in Lyon.
Her work in clay and ceramics seeks to reflect the dependence we humans have on our moods, our thoughts, our preconceptions, our personal experiences, our cognitive biases. All things that are reflected, sometimes independently of our will, in our attitudes, our gestures, our faces.
Expressions of interiority that she wishes to retranscribe by intimately mixing silhouettes, faces, portraits, with the materials and effects of terracotta, engobes, oxides, and ceramic enamels. Each piece is unique.
