Johannes Sivertsen

Johannes Sivertsen was born in Paris in 1984. He lives and works between Paris and Copenhagen. Danish and French, he trained at the Ateliers Beaux-Arts de la Glacière in Paris from 2004 to 2008, then at The Funen Art Academy in Odense from 2009 to 2014. 

Inspired by Delacroix's work, both in its themes and its remarkable technique, Johannes Sivertsen's paintings take up the theme of France, and in particular its colonial period in Algeria. 

His work gives a contemporary interpretation of classical painting, illustrating the myths of the powers that be.
