The Franck-L style: brilliant and demanding

Biography

Franck L is a French figurative painter, sculptor, and lithographer born in 1944.

It was during his architecture studies at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, in Dengler's studio, that Franck-L realized at nineteen that his true vocation was painting.

He began by reporting, from his first exhibition, the Prize for under 20 years awarded by RTL. His works are noticed by major gallerists in the Right Bank and he exhibits at Alain Daune, avenue Matignon, at the Drouant gallery, at the Vendôme gallery, etc. Working in Paris, he exhibits in France and abroad, China, Japan, USA, Canada, etc. Starting in 1989, he added sculpture to his modes of expression.

Since 2001, he has settled in Sète.

Franck L is an artist who likes to play with pictorial archetypes to renew them. His romantic inspiration is always served by an impeccable technique, and these two qualities give his works an undeniable power of seduction.

While he deals with themes that generations of painters have treated before him, clowns, jockeys, dancers, Venice, motherhood, Franck L knows how to surprise with an unexpected freshness, the novelty of a point of view.

Franck-L's works are noted for the delicacy of the touch, a harmonious palette, and a mastery of hand formed by the great classics.
