Jérémie Lenoir

France • 1983

Biography

Born in 1983, Jérémie Lenoir is at first drawn by science, by mathematics and computer science, and then switches to the creation of images. After having studied to become an engineer at the Ecole Polytechnique in Tours, he is accepted at the Beaux-Arts in Orléans and gets his DNSEP in 2009.

He doesn?t have a specific theme or any particular intention of representing objectively any ?truth? of the landscape; his photographs invite the viewer to a unique journey to ?no-places?, as defined by Marc Augé.

Deeply influenced by the artists of the Kunstakademie in Düsseldorf and by Jurgen Nefzger, Raymond Depardon or Thierry Girard, his images try to represent reality and its translation into paintings: between a poetic, imaginary world and the concern for social issues, his work tries to be a warning about the deep changes that are happening to our world and our civilization.

Jérémie Lenoir lives and works in Tours.
