Sylvie Mathiswan

Born in Charente in Angoulême, I grew up and made my professional career in Paris. Then I moved to Brittany in Finistère.

A serious accident to the hand at 17 forced me to give up the project to do
Fine arts. Since childhood I have always had the desire to do sculpture, fascinated by those I had admired at the Louvre during school visits.

Self-taught, I learned the basics of working the land through leisure internships. Working with clay is obvious to me, capturing human expressions and emotions and giving life to inert, sensual and warm matter.

I made it my main mode of expression today. Make portraits, renew this gesture as old as humanity ... have the instinct of the sculptor.
