Bronze Sculpture for Sale
Olivier SWIZ (Paris, 1983) develops a body of work that blends constructed paintings and painted constructions.
Originating from graffiti, he retains its connection to gesture, scale, and direct confrontation with the surface. His research focuses on visual structure: how a form holds together, how a composition is articulated, how a tension becomes visible.
Using a limited vocabulary—lines, masses, densities, geometry—Swiz develops spatial organizations akin to architecture. His painting proceeds in layers and through successive decisions, without decoration or narrative, animated by a balance between rigor and sensitivity.
He also deconstructs writing: the letter becomes matter, a diagram, a framework. A cryptic typography runs through his works like a buried memory, an internal logic.
His works take many forms: canvases, murals, bas-reliefs, volumes in steel or wood, paper collages, affirming the notion of construction as a plastic act:
His work has been exhibited in numerous countries, including at MoMA Seoul, in France, Germany, Switzerland, and Morocco. His work exploring geometry is currently on display at the Vasarely Foundation in Aix-en-Provence.
