Emilie Rossi-Lacoste has been passionate about art since she was very young.
She graduated with a bachelor's degree in plastic arts and flourished in self-expression, drawing, painting and ceramics workshops. A few years ago, she oriented her practice towards abstraction.
Very curious and ready to test new techniques, she is always on the lookout for new pictorial utensils. Her brushes are complemented by knives, spatulas, wooden sticks, syringes, brushes, fabrics... but her favourite is the hand.
The sensation of painting allows him to translate an inner reality that cannot be restricted to a figurative representation.
The essential element is the gesture. Spontaneous, lively, calligraphic, it is broad and precise. Energy and speed are privileged. The choice of colours, the back and forth movements, the circles are impulsive.
The strokes of acrylic, ink and medium intermingle with the paint, the projections and the tracings with the tube.
The composition has a mysterious aspect where the colours play together. The successive layers merge, overlap, darken and cover each other, revealing new contrasts.
Each canvas is an exploration, a new adventure.
