Primo Formenti

Primo Formenti was born in 1941 in Palazzolo sull'Oglio in the province of Brescia, where he still operates. He began his artistic career in Paris in the environment of the early 60s where he reflects the cultural turmoil, which reworks the artist in a constant search and transformation of color and material. In the 70s joined the “E” group; This is a particularly creative moment, characterized by the choice of a very special painting technique, similar to the fresco which uses tend to express abstract themes. Processes such as various themes, "Reading", "Women", Imaginary "posters", "reports". In this last issue (duration 1987-1996) joined the group "Expressionist disharmony", founded by Daniela and Giovanni Repossi Palazzoli; He has just created in his paintings well-defined relationships between color and alternately dominated, object and matter. Very interesting are the large forms of painted wood “stems”, where the obvious geometric structure emerges a dense chromatic impasto, but at the same time nuanced, almost evanescent. Since 1997, he has been working on the new edition of “Histoires” where the story is purely abstract. During this time, Formenti is measured by the production of artists' glasses whose different chromatic elements dialogue through bold lines that weave the frame. His solo exhibitions take place in all major cities in Italy and abroad: Milan, Venice, Bergamo, Rome, Pesaro, Rotterdam, Stockholm, Vienna, Chicago, Atlanta, Naples, Paris, Brussels, Barcelona, Zagreb, Rio de Janeiro and others. In 1993, a large retrospective was presented at the Museum of Sacred Art of Saint Apollonia in Venice. In 1996, a staff of more than 70 works took place at the Visconti de Trezzo Castle in the province of Milan. In 2004, a team of 50 works is offered to the Marius Staquet Museum in Mouscron in Belgium and the installation at the Florian café in Venice. In 2005/2006 "The post-modern glass of Primo Formenti", presenting Giancarlo Bojani, Vanvitelliano staircase, Pesaro.
