After graduating in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Bologna, Giò Alberti developed his artistic work especially in the field of drawing and illustration. In 2016, He obtained a master's degree in editorial illustration at Mimaster in Milan.

His illustrations range from life drawing to designs inspired by the world of fashion, taking sometimes a measured approach, sometimes one that is more biting and seductive. In short, ranging from a conceptual spirit to one that is more impulsive and naive. He currently live and works in Trieste.

In May 2019 he exhibited the “Barcola" series in London as part of the Cluster Illustration Fair. From 1 to 11 August 2019 the triptych “to watch" was on display at the Unit 5 Gallery in London, as part of the Cluster UNISON group exhibition, curated by Ema Marinova. In August 2019 he exhibited the personal exhibition “Women" at the Hotel Torre Della Vittoria 1928 in Ferrara, Italy.

During the lockdown he collaborated with the New York based artist Peggy Roalf. Together they have created a “creative dialogue" based on the visual and emotional suggestions that emerged in those difficult days. The project is called Covid Journal and the illustrations make up a virtual gallery on IG, under the hashtag #alberti_roalf_covidjournal.

Giò Alberti recently started a collaboration with the online magazine In Trieste, offering every week an illustration inspired by the everyday life of the city of Trieste. The titles of these illustrations often refer to dialect words typical of this beautiful border town.

In addition to these and other collaborations, Giò Alberti keeps alive an independent artistic production, often influenced by literature, theater and the world of costumes and fashion.
