Taisuke Fujiwara, born 1988 in Gunma, received his Master degree in 2013 from the Tohoku University of Art & Design. Although still a young artist, he has already participated in numerous group exhibitions and hold more then half a dozen solo exhibitions in Japan.
Fujiwara has developed a passion for the shambles of the Japanese urban scenery and always paints very detailed and complex imaginary cities. However, what he describes in his artworks are not metropolises like Tokyo or Osaka, but rather in fact small countryside towns that started to erratically expand.
Fujiwara is concerned that in his life time, Japan's countryman culture and lifestyle will eventually vanish, leaving people with no choice but dwelling in overcrowded buildings mish-mashes.
Both Fujiwara's vertical and birdseye-view styles have gathered a large fan base al around Japan.
