Khatym

Franco-Senegalese artist, Khatym first trained at the University of Montpellier III, where he obtained a doctorate in geography and spatial planning.

From his abstract canvases with a dark background, stains, shapes, powerful and colorful gestures emerge, revealing the dynamic character of the artist.

He likes to keep his practice a secret but is happy to share with us his approach, his will and the reasons that guide his art:

“Sometimes a little extraordinary happens to us in our life, so tidy, planned, codified or stirred by the obligations of life. We no longer pay attention to the extraordinary that knocks on our door, that of the heart, to show us the ways of constant happiness, perfect and so good to live. The extraordinary question our emotional field and resonate with our obligation of self-knowledge and our acceptance to grant ourselves happiness anchored in emotional purity; the one that uplifts us and makes us feel alive.

The heart has keys and we must seek to perceive them, grasp them, test them. When you find a good key, you will feel your heart beating so intensely and so gently at the same time that it is only a palpable emotion.

Life is worth living only by the hope of a present punctuated by the soft and comforting feeling of the beating of our heart. Breath of liberation towards just and perfect values and principles. My art is the extension of my identity, my history and my affiliations.

My approach is actually the expression of an artistic inspiration born from an emotional color. My art is my language and my creations a universal message. "
