Joaquín Cano was born in 1956 in Isla, Cantabria, Spain.
He holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the faculty of San Fernando in Madrid. He is a Professor of the Faculty of Education at the University of Cantabria, where he teaches plastic expression. Joaquín Cano also directs the silkscreen workshop of the school.
