Steve Kuzma

Steve Kuzma is an American artist of Ukrainian descent born in Philadelphia in 1960. He graduated from Parsons School of Design. Among his teachers we find David Passalaqua and Darshan Singh.

He started as an illustrator in New York City in the 1980s. Steve possessed a particular talent for painting sport scenes since he was very sensitive to athlete's competition. For him, painting sport subjects was a trigger for a never-ending integration and development of the mind, the body and the spirit together.

STEVE'S WORK has appeared in:

The New York Times, on CBS, on ABC's coverage of the 1984 Winter Olympics in Sarajevo - the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles - on SIN Television Network's coverage of the 1986 World Cup - in the Time Time Magazine 1985 - in the Backpacker May 86 and January 87 - in Sports magazine April 87.  

He also illustrated one of A. Adoff's book Sport Pages.

Steve has received numerous awards and grants, and his paintings are held in private and corporate collections. Permanently exhibited at The National Art Museum of Sport, West Haven, Connecticut and The American Sport Art Museum and Archives, United States Sports Academy, Daphne, Alabama.
