I paint New Orleans, points beyond, and imaginary places. I am a self-taught artist. Magical realism, religious imagery and iconography are key elements in most of my work. The symbolism I incorporate is of things I consider sacred, sentimental and cherished and is part of my story or part of a story I am telling through my paintings.
Most of my work at this point centers around my relationship with New Orleans and the Gulf South, often intertwining the present with my past growing up in the Deep South. -Cheryl Anne Grace
