Description
The mix of rain and then sun, the empty streets at dusk, allow the warm light to bounce from surface to surface with rich oranges against deep crimson and violets. The graduation from white-yellow-orange-red is contrasted against the complementary violet and cerulean colors to heighten the impact. I was probably the only person in Collioure excited for the rain.
Presentation
Rob Buntin, an artist from South Carolina in the United States and a lover of France, came to settle with his wife and children in Clermont-Ferrand, France in 2017.
Influenced by some great masters of impressionism, such as Claude Monet and Paul Signac, his work is based on a careful exploration of color and the capture of light in its natural state. He seeks inspiration primarily at dawn and at dusk, when light reveals the most intense and complex colors, which he transforms into his own style.
