Description
Abstract art is expressed here through a suggested landscape. The composition plays on the balance between the concrete and the immaterial. A low horizon structures the space. The gaze travels between vertical touches and horizontal blocks.

This 2023 creation explores spatio-temporal depth. The forms fade to make way for a sensation of elsewhere. The light diffuses in complementary fragments. The whole stabilizes in a soft chromatic harmony.
Presentation
"Pierre Promelle" has remained faithful to his region. After a passage through Fine Arts and a Decorator Diploma. Interest in pictorial research was really felt only following fortuitous events.
At first, the artist mainly oil on linen canvas. Today, the latter has evolved a lot, the technique and the supports have changed. First attracted by painting on silk, his curiosity led him to tests on sheet steel. Today, depending on the mood, it's either steel or canvas. While continuing his research work.
In fact, this type of "Metal" support has the effect of accentuating or reducing the value and the shine of the tons depending on the viewing distance or the thickness of the material.
Inhabited by doubt, which apparent certainties cannot hide, we are in the presence of talented artists whose creativity remains infinite. The rhythms follow each other excited and crystallize as if suspended in time, realizing in its fullness the pictorial vision, imprinted with a moral or human significance.
As if driven by a vital necessity, he infuses his painting with the stir of action and removes all determinism from it, he has, so to speak, stabilized it at a high degree of tension to remove any possibility of falling into a hypothetical academicism. .
To achieve this, a uniform will was not enough, one should never ignore the goal and conceive of painting as a continual becoming of vibrations.
The gesture and the action are freed from any improvised character. The light emerges from a material that is no longer a restricted element, it spreads by modulating the shapes in the extent of the surfaces by breaking them with patterns of diverse but complementary tones.
The signs which also take on light are always governed by the conscious hand of the artist, but stopped or amplified according to their necessity.
This painting hardly cares about definition: it manages by its own means to overcome the antinomy between abstract and concrete.
The painter no longer considers his inspirational motifs from an analytical point of view, he looks at them in their relationship with the outside world. The work is loaded with great authenticity, but also with great sensitivity, undoubtedly an excellent and surprising work. We enter a mysterious universe where space time takes a break ... "
