Hugo Caddous

Always a lover of nature, Hugo Caddous first imagined himself working with animals. Then in 1998 he did a drawing class at Jussieu University in Paris which was a revelation and he has never looked back.

After studying engraving at Ecole Estienne and later at the Scool of Beaux Arts in Paris, Caddous worked, amongst other things, as a textile graphic designer, before founding his drawing studio Caddous&Alvarez with Cécile Alvarez.

For the last two years he has been developing more personal and pictorial work in parallel, exploring colour and matter. His melancholic landscapes echo his portraits. The landscape as a mirror of the soul. "Every landscape is a state of mind" said philosopher Henri-Frédéric Amiel. And that is a perfect illustration of Caddous's work.

Based on his experience with established names in the fields of interior design and luxury fashion, he is now developing painted frescoes, wall decorations, wallpaper and commissioned portraits.
