Sablyne

Presentation

Inspired by human relations, Sablyne studied at the Ecole Supérieure d'Art in Annecy and then at the Ecole de Lyon Bellecour. Settled in New Caledonia in 2009, she trained in Indonesian arts. Back in France, the visual artist developed a personal mixed technique that combines ink, acrylic paint, dry pastel, collage art, photography and upcycling.

"My melancholic mood sharpens my gaze and makes me want to immortalize during a fleeting moment of reading, the scent of the almond tree in bloom, the song of the cicadas, the sweetness of life in the south"

'I stage our moods in a somewhat theatrical way in sorts of colorful heterotopias, small multicolored, textured spaces, like the world around us.

For the technique, the choice of diversity is an integral part of my approach in order to personalize my words as much as possible. Different papers and materials are mixed with traditional techniques such as acrylic paint, dry pastel, ink drawing, collage.

The canvases are built like a palimpsest, layer after layer from the laying of a sub-texture, made up of recycled materials and paper, this "compost" will allow the canvas to be born. The various plastic operations practiced materialize the notion of time which passes through wear and alteration.'
