Biography

A young Artist, born in 1979, Laetitia Giraud did her studies at the University of Nîmes, where she obtained a double master's degree in Visual arts and Applied arts. Her carrer as a peinter began with a photo shoot: contemplative scenes of journeys, landscapes, fragments of memories. She then proceeds to capture the essence and emphasize it pictorially by limiting the details. "I use photography as a machine to see my future work" she explains. In her portraits, she completely breaks free from the photographic model " By not respecting proportions, by expanding or accentuating the color range " creating nocturnes which are like hymns to light and color. " I transform as well moments lived by pictural experience to interpret sensations and give a new dimension. I show what a photography can't show. The topic being only about the painting itself".
