Anton Corbijn

He began his career at the musical monthly Oor in 1977 before moving to London where he entered the magazine New Musical Express. His highly contrasted black and white photos made him known and many stars passed in front of his lens (David Bowie, Joy Division, U2, Miles Davis, Johnny Hallyday, Clint Eastwood, Vanessa Paradis, etc.). He frequently collaborates with Depeche Mode (since 1986), a group for which he produces clips and covers on numerous occasions as well as the stage installations of their concerts. The DVD The Work of Director Anton Corbijn groups his main achievements (Nirvana, The Killers, Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds, Depeche Mode, Joy Division, etc.). He directed Control in 2007, a feature film on the life of Ian Curtis, a feature film presented at the Directors' Fortnight at the 2007 Cannes Film Festival. In February 2012, he was a member of the jury of the Berlinale 2012, chaired by Mike Leigh. In December 2015 he was a member of the jury of the 15th Marrakech International Film Festival, chaired by Francis Ford Coppola.
