Kehal MCMXIX

KEHAL MCMXIX is a painter born in Grenoble in 1973. She currently lives on the Atlantic coast.

Since she was little, the artist has been drawing on the counter of her father's café-restaurant.
Painting allows him to escape.

A few years later, she went to study in Lyon at the La Martinière-Terreaux high school as a stylist, then moved on to graphic arts and obtained her diploma as a designer and layout artist.

She continued her DNSEP training with a Design option at the Beaux-Arts in Lyon.

In 2006, the artist decided to create a structure in Paris to promote painters and sculptors.

And gradually, she started painting again... subjects like golf, surfing and the ocean, which represents her direct environment.

In 2023, the artist begins a series on the Orient and its beauty.

His work is often marked by references to art history, academics and Middle Eastern culture.

Her painting is influenced by philosophies, she often addresses themes such as women, mother-child, music, nature, spirituality and daily life.

The formats of his paintings are human-sized.

The artist draws inspiration from the great masters of painting in his composition and subjects, while integrating contemporary and personal elements into his works.

His favorite artists are academic, Italian and orientalist painters such as: Ingres, Da Vinci, Monet, Raphael, Rembrandt, Degas, Rubens, Michelangelo, Botticelli, David Roberts…
