Biography
Emilio Ruiz Cardona
Born in Palma de Mallorca in 1963, always preferring to have something between his fingers that would allow him to leave a trace or color. Restless and creative, he mortgaged "life to use" to be able to dedicate himself to the formation of his spirit from a humanistic point of view.
Dedicated to the skull life, to the waste of health, to endless reading, to traveling consuming curiosity, painting without parentheses for being aware that it would be his language. He quickly became convinced that by mixing all these ingredients (and others omitted due to lack of honest memory) he was helping to remove a certain annoying orthodoxy in life, significantly increasing its silence and nakedness. In his backpack of life he has always carried a desert island where he spent essential seasons. Self-taught, except for two years in Marta Christel's studio. Creating, exploring, transgressing, experimenting with materials and lights, are their main common denominator. He began to exhibit late, although his work transmits a lifetime full of experience and knowledge.

"Actually nobody remembers when they picked up a pencil for the first time and I have the feeling without knowing it, of having chosen it at a very early age as the main language to fix my self to everything around me, this is the subjective that defines the art as individual essence.
Time passes and again I enjoy a new opportunity to exhibit my works that at this point are showing at the same time, various stages of my work always focused on the creative side at the service of a common humanist denominator. I love the search, the risk, and not getting lost in inexplicable labyrinths. I enjoy transgressing the flat surface to paint, transcending the astonishment itself".
